8 Essential Cleaning Tips for Nigerian Offices During Rainy Season

Nigeria's rainy season runs April through October. For commercial spaces, this brings unique challenges — mud, humidity, moisture ingress, and mould. Here's how to stay ahead.

1. Double Your Entrance Matting

Entrances are the primary point of mud and water ingress. During rainy season, a single mat is insufficient. Layer a coarse outdoor scraper mat with an absorbent indoor mat, and plan to change or dry the indoor mat every 2–3 hours in heavy footfall areas.

2. Increase Floor Cleaning Frequency

Hard floors become slip hazards within minutes of rain-related ingress. Consider increasing mopping frequency to every 2 hours in lobbies and corridors during wet season. Wet floor signage should be a permanent feature, not an emergency response.

3. Monitor Humidity Levels
